Díriú an BAI ar an Danmhairg @ Digital Biscuit 2014

The BAI is supporting the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland’s Digital Biscuit 2014, a 2-day event featuring new technology, renowned directors, acclaimed creative and social media gurus in the Science Gallery, Trinity College Dublin from 22nd to 24th January. The Spotlight on Denmark series of events looks at a number of exciting funding developments in Denmark, the move to a transmedia world and hears from those involved in some of the country’s famous drama productions, being held on Thursday, 23rd, will be introduced by BAI Chief Executive Michael O’Keeffe.

14:02 -14:30. Part 1: New Danish Screen: Nurturing Talent and Innovation
New Danish Screen is a talent development and innovation subsidy scheme providing support for all types of films and transmedia projects. As Commissioning Editor, Marie Schmidt Olesen talks about how the Danish Film Institute is innovating in nurturing new talent in the Digital Age and how they have broken the boundaries between the film and games industries with their most recent and ambitious transmedia project CLOUD CHAMBER.
Marie is the Commissioning Editor at Danish Film Institute and worked as an award-winning producer in Scotland and as company director of Autonomi Ltd. and its offspring Diversity Films CIC before joining the Danish Film Institute as a commissioning editor with their scheme New Danish Screen in 2012.
New Danish Screen is a talent development and innovation subsidy scheme providing support for all types of films and transmedia projects. New Danish Screen aims to support emerging and established talents, enabling them to develop, test out new ideas or change course from their past productions. Marie’s own career in the film industry began in 2002, with her first producer credits for the short documentary, Beyond the Highlands, and the TV movie, Bedroom Radio. Since then she’s worked on a varied list of projects including: Minefield, Kurdi, Milk, Good Cop, Wasted Nation, Run, Some Distant Day, Artworks, and Come Closer. Marie will talk about how the Danish Film Institute is nurturing new talent in the Digital Age and how they have broken the boundaries between the film and games industries with their most recent transmedia project CLOUD CHAMBER.

14:30 – 15:00. Part 2: Cloud Chamber: Welcome To The Science Noir Transmedia World
Christian Fonnesbech introduces CLOUD CHAMBER, a collaborative experience, transmedia movement, and online mystery that is part game, alternate reality, film, and social media: a found footage noir “film” about a young scientist’s story.

15:00 – 15:30. Part 3: Brutal Honesty: The Secret Formula To Successful Film Campaigns
Philip Einstein Lipski and Maria Einstein Biilmann are experts in Creative Strategy. Having most recently worked on Zentropa’s genius and much-talked about NYMPHOMANIAC campaign, they discuss how to craft a successful Creative Strategy that will resonate with an audience and build buzz for any creative project.

15:30- 16:00. Part 4: In Conversation With Camilla Hammerich
As producer of award-winning TV series BORGEN, Camilla Hammerich, has worked with nine different directors on all thirty episodes of the show. Camilla’s knowledge of the project is such that she is now writing a book about the making of BORGEN. Here, she shares her experiences as Producer at DR Fiction, Denmark’s acclaimed television development and production studio.
