Request for submissions: Official Languages Act 2003 – Revision of BAI’s current Language Scheme and Preparation of new draft Scheme
The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland is reviewing its Irish Language Scheme and preparing a new draft Scheme in accordance with Section 15 of the Official Languages Act 2003. The primary objective of the Official Languages Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish.
The Authority now wishes to invite representations in relation to the revision of the Scheme from all interested parties. Submissions should ideally not exceed 4,000 words (circa 8 pages). Ideally submissions, which will be made available on the Authority’s website, should be written and sent electronically to teanga@bai.ie by Thursday, 30 June 2016. A copy of the current scheme is available here.
