The Contract Awards Committee of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (“the BAI) has today (Wednesday 21st November) placed a public notice in a national paper seeking applications for a single sound broadcasting contract for the provision of the following two sound broadcasting services on the FM band: –
A REGIONAL MUSIC-DRIVEN (YOUTH) SOUND BROADCASTING SERVICE FOR THE NORTH WEST – (Counties Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Longford, Roscommon and Galway)
And
A REGIONAL MUSIC- DRIVEN (YOUTH) SOUND BROADCASTING SERVICE FOR THE NORTH EAST & MIDLANDS – (Counties Louth, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan, Kildare, North-East Laois, Offaly, and Westmeath)
The two sound broadcasting services are to be operated under a single sound broadcasting contract. The services should provide a mix of speech and music programming of particular relevance to listeners in the 15-34 age group in the franchise area.
Attention is drawn to the relevant criteria laid down in Section 66 of the 2009 Act and to the duties that will be imposed on successful applicants under the various provisions of the 2009 Act.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 12 noon on Monday, 25th February 2019. Applicants should note that the BAI reserves the right not to award a contract.
