
The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (“BAI”) has today, 26th August, announced the receipt of the following applications for community of interest radio sound broadcasting services, serving student communities in each of Cork City, Galway City and Limerick City. The three services were advertised by the BAI last May.
Cork City
An application was received from Student Facilities and Services (UCC) Ltd, broadcasting as UCC 98.3FM, for a community of interest radio service, serving student communities in Cork City. UCC 98.3FM currently operates a 10-year community of interest service which is due to expire on 20th June 2017.
Galway City
An application was received from College Campus Radio Ltd, broadcasting as Flirt FM, for a community of interest radio service, serving student communities in Galway City. College Campus Radio Ltd currently operates a 10-year community of interest service which is due to expire on 20th June 2017
Limerick City
An application was received from Mary Immaculate College, broadcasting as Wired FM, for a community of interest radio service, serving student communities in Limerick City. Wired FM currently operates a 10-year community of interest service which is due to expire on 20th June 2017.
The BAI will now review the applications to ensure that all information requested in the Guide to Submissions has been received and that the applications are valid. On completion of this review, the applications will be made publicly available.
