BAI supporting diverse Irish content at 2019 Galway Film Fleadh

Three Irish features supported by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI)’s Sound & Vision Scheme will screen at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh. These projects, ‘Finky’, ‘Jihad Jane’ and ‘Never Grow Old’ are examples of the BAI’s commitment to increase the production and availability of diverse and culturally relevant content to Irish audiences.

‘Jihad Jane’ – Saturday, 13th July, 3.30pm, Town Hall Theatre.

‘Never Grow Old’ – Closing film, Sunday, 14th July, 7.30pm, Town Hall Theatre.

A sponsor of the Galway Film Fleadh, the BAI will participate in the Cine4 panel and roundtable to encourage the development of quality content in the Irish language in the industry.  The BAI’s Stephanie Comey will also speak about the BAI’s gender initiatives at the Countdown to 5050 by 2020 panel discussion on the work for gender equality in the Irish film/TV industry.  These gender initiatives give effect to the BAI’s objective to foster a media landscape that is representative of the diversity of Irish society. BAI representatives will also provide information on funding opportunities and BAI initiatives to industry members at the Filmmakers Lounge.

We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Galway Film Fleadh and we look forward to participating in this year’s event.”
