BAI seeks applications for Sponsorship Scheme 2022

Funding of up to €150,000 available for media-related events and activities

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) is now seeking applications for its Sponsorship Scheme 2022. Under the scheme, up to €150,000 will be available to support a range of media-related activities during 2022.

The BAI will consider relevant events and activities that align with the objectives set out in the BAI’s Strategy Statement and raise awareness of the BAI and its work. For 2022, there will be a particular focus on events and activities that help to promote diversity and plurality and to enhance innovation and sectoral sustainability.

In line with the scheme guidelines, proposals will be considered for media-related events and / or activities taking place in 2022, be they one-off events / activities; a programme element, or elements within a larger event, or a series of connected events / activities.

Commenting, Deputy Chief Executive of the BAI, Celene Craig said: “The BAI is delighted to once again invite applications for its Sponsorship Scheme. 2021 saw a range of sponsored events and activities that demonstrated flexibility and creativity in a year that remained difficult for many in the media sector. We hope to continue such support in 2022, to facilitate media-related events and activities that effectively promote the BAI’s work and objectives, in particular relating to diversity, plurality and sectoral sustainability.”

The closing date for receipt of applications to the Sponsorship Scheme is noon on Wednesday, 15th December 2021. A guide for applicants is available on the BAI website here and an application form can be downloaded here.
