BAI announces licensing plan details

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has today (17.04.19) announced details of its Radio Licensing Plan for the remainder of 2019.  The plan is comprised of three commercial sound broadcasting services and one community sound broadcasting service.

Under the Broadcasting Act 2009, the BAI is required to produce plans regarding the number, nature and scope of broadcasting contracts that it plans to enter into.

The Authority has directed the BAI Contract Awards Committee to undertake licensing processes to implement the plan.  Further information on the relevant licensing processes will be outlined over the coming months.
