Closing date for Community Broadcasting Support Scheme
As announced in August the BAI Community Broadcasting Support Scheme is now open for applications. The closing date for the receipt of applications is 1st October 2015 at 12noon. The Scheme, which has a total available fund of €30,000, is open to all full-time licensed Community and Community of Interest TV and radio stations across the country. It is specifically designed to offer funding support to community and community of interest broadcasters to enable them to further advance from an organisational development perspective. BAI Survey
Our Communications Survey remains open for completion until 2nd October. Thank you to everyone who has responded so far. The results of this survey will help us to assess and improve our external communications activities. All responses will be treated confidentially. BAI Conversation Event in Cork on 12th November.
Don’t forget to register your place at our upcoming event in Cork on the 12th November. The Relevance and Future of Irish Content in the Broadcasting Media will be discussed at an event in the River Lee Hotel, Western Road, Cork, as part of the Cork Film Festival.
The event will be moderated by broadcaster Claire Byrne and will see a panel from Irish television and radio services exploring the importance of Irish content to Irish viewers and listeners. They will also discuss the future for Irish content and the value of promoting / protecting it, both in Ireland and abroad. The event will include opportunities for audience contribution.
Panellists include Noel Curran, Director General, RTÉ; John Purcell, Chairperson, Independent Broadcasters of Ireland, Lynda McQuaid, Director of Content, TV3, Ciarán Murray, Craol – The Community Radio Forum, Micheál O Meallaigh, Stiúrthóir Comisiúnaithe, TG4 and Margaret Gillan, Chairperson, Community Television Association. Opening remarks will be given by The Irish Times reviewer, Bernice Harrison. This event is free to attend. However, places are limited with over half the tickets being allocated already.
