NÓTA DON EAGARTHÓIR:
Is féile idirnáisiúnta Ghaeilge í Seachtain na Gaeilge a bhíonn ar siúl i mí an Mhárta gach bliain agus a chuireann úsáid na Gaeilge agus an chultúir Ghaelaigh chun cinn, anseo in Éirinn agus thar lear. Bhunaigh Conradh na Gaeilge an eagraíocht sa bhliain 1902. Tá an fhéile tar éis neart fuinnimh a bhailiú le blianta beaga anuas, agus tá sí anois ar an gceiliúradh is mó dár dteanga agus dár gcultúr dúchais a bhíonn in Éirinn gach bliain, agus in go leor tíortha eile. Tugann an fhéile deis go gach uile dhuine spraoi a bheith acu leis an nGaeilge, idir chainteoirí dúchais, fhoghlaimeoirí agus lucht an chúpla focal araon. Déanann eagraíochtaí, comhairlí áitiúla, scoileanna, leabharlanna, agus eagrais cheoil, spóirt agus chultúrtha a n-imeachtaí do Sheachtain na Gaeilge a chlárú leis an oifig gach bliain, agus reáchtáladh féile na bliana seo ó 1 – 17 Márta 2014. Tá Seachtain na Gaeilge buíoch d’Fhoras na Gaeilge, príomh-mhaoinitheoir na féile, as an tacaíocht a thugtar don fhéile gach bliain. www.snag.ie

EDITOR’S NOTE:
Seachtain na Gaeilge is an international festival which runs in March every year to promote the Irish language and culture in Ireland and abroad. Conradh na Gaeilge set up the festival in 1902. The festival has gained a lot of momentum in recent years and is now one of the biggest celebrations of our native language and culture each year. Seachtain na Gaeilge gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy Irish, whether you are a native speaker, learner or have a cúpla focal. Community groups, schools, local authorities, libraries, cultural, sport and music organisations and more register events with Seachtain na Gaeilge each year. This year’s festival ran from 1 – 17 March 2014. Seachtain na Gaeilge is grateful to Foras na Gaeilge, the festival’s primary funder, for its support of the festival each year. www.snag.ie
