BAI Signs contract with a new Community Radio Station for East Limerick

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (“BAI”) has today, 1st September 2011, signed a ten year community sound broadcasting contract with Boherroe Broadcasting Company Limited trading as East Limerick Community Radio.

The service, which will commence broadcasting on 19th September, will be on-air 7 days a week and available in the areas of Boher, Pallas Grean and Cappamore.

The programme schedule will incorporate a mixture of special interest speech, current affairs, music, religious and sports programming and aims to appeal to all sections of the community in the East Limerick area.

Speaking at the contract signing, Michael O’Keeffe, Chief Executive of the BAI said: “I would like to congratulate East Limerick Community Radio on its contract signing today. Community Radio can contribute to the building of a strong sense of community in a locality and we wish the station every success in the years ahead”.

Signing the contract on behalf of the company was Michael Ryan (Chairperson) and Tim Long (Secretary). The BAI was represented by Larry Bass, Member of the Authority and Michael O’Keeffe, Chief Executive.
