BAI signs contract with South West Donegal Community Radio

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (“BAI”) today, 22nd December 2010, signed a 10-year Community Sound Broadcasting Contract with South West Donegal Community Radio Limited.
The service is expected to launch in early February 2011 and will broadcast on 88.6FM to Killybegs, Miltown and environs. It will initially broadcast for four hours on Monday and Friday evenings and for twelve hours at weekends.
Speaking at the signing of the contract, Michael O’Keeffe, Chief Executive of the BAI said: “I would like to congratulate South West Donegal Community Radio on their contract signing today. This new community radio station will add to the mix of radio services available to listeners in south-west Donegal. We wish the station every success over the term of its licence”.
The contractor was represented by Denis Mc Daid (Chairperson) and Brenda Furey (Secretary). Signing on behalf of the Authority was Michael O’Keeffe (Chief Executive) and John Waters (Authority Member).
