BAI signs contract with Radio Nova

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (“BAI”) has today (Wednesday 4th August) signed a ten-year sound broadcasting contract with Classic Rock Broadcasting Limited (trading as Radio Nova) for the provision of a classic rock music-based commercial sound broadcasting service for a general audience in the 25-54 age group on the FM band in Dublin City, County and Commuter Belt. The service will provide a wide variety of classic rock music from the last 40 years with some speech elements. This will be complemented by a credible and reliable news service and an engaging and informative sports service. Speaking at the contract signing, Mr. Bob Collins, Chairperson of the BAI said: “Radio Nova is one of a range of commercial local radio services which provides quality and diversity in programming to listeners in the Dublin City, County and Commuter Belt area. They are a welcome addition to the commercial radio sector and we wish them every success over the term of their sound broadcasting contract”. Classic Rock Broadcasting Limited was represented at the contract signing by David Tighe, Chief Executive; Kevin Brannigan, Mike Ormonde and Rosemary Heydon, Directors. Mr. Bob Collins, Chairperson, and Michael O’Keeffe, Chief Executive, signed on behalf of the BAI. The service is due to commence broadcasting under the contract at the beginning of September.
